Entropy is not your friend

This is a phrase Elon Musk used when he was talking about why his company SpaceX had won a contract to ferry people and goods to the International Space Station.
He said entropy had meant that NASA had lost the capacity and will to reach the station. He mentioned how they had once put men on the moon, launched many solar system explorers and the space shuttle but now had to shamefacedly pay the Russians $100 million for each flight. Space exploration is now becoming the domain of private corporations like SpaceX and Boeing.
Imagine said Elon "If an airline purchased a brand new Boeing 777 and at the destination asked you to parachute to the ground and then flew the plane into the sea!" Only when SpaceX designed a reusable rocket was the cost reduced to $10 million per flight. Apparently designing a reusable rocket was very difficult and needed a lot of clever thinking and hard work but NASA through entropy lost its creative mojo.
So often companies and people become stagnant without constant improvement and renewal which is one of the strengths of a conscious business.
